Make sure you are compliant with Bill 168 – Violence and Harassment in the Workplace? You have a yearly obligation under the Health and Safety Act to review your policies and program and train your staff. A re-assessment may be required if you have changes to the physical environment or have had an incident of violence or harassment in the workplace.

What does this mean for Ontario employers? Not complying with the new requirements could result in fines from the Ministry of Labour (MOL) of up to $500,000 for an organization, or up to $25,000 and/or jail time for an individual. Click here for a checklist on becoming compliant.

Lynn ImageLynne Bard, President and Senior Consultant, received her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in 1990 from the Human Resources Association of Ontario. She earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in 1994 from the University of Guelph, majoring in Sociology with a minor in family studies & attained the Dean’s Honour Roll. In addition, she received her Myers Briggs certification from Psychometrics Canada and True Colors/Personality Dimensions Training and is a member of the Ontario Association for the Application of Personality Type (OAAPT).

Lynne has focused her experience working with businesses in human resources, recruitment, health, wellness, safety and operations management for over 25 years. Lynne has taken the lead role from recruitment to HR Solutions for her clients in a timely and professional manner meeting and often exceeding their expectations.

Lynne Bard, President of Beyond Rewards Inc has over 25 years experience working in Safety, Human Resource and Training; taking the lead role in Safety and Human Resources for her clients. Lynne provides HR Expertise for ECO HR Blog, writes articles for HAZMAT Magazine and safety blogs for HAZMAT’s online blog; develops and delivers many safety and hr training programs online and face-to face through Beyond Rewards and as a Professor at Conestoga College. Lynne’s expertise has won several awards of excellence in the field and continues to lend experience and credibility to organizations with best practice solutions and processes that lend to the success of her clients businesses.

Tanya ImageTanya Walesch, Human Resources Consultant/Trainer, graduated from Conestoga College’s postgraduate Human Resources Management Co-op program, and is currently pursuing her Certified Human Resource Professional designation. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, Honours from the University of Guelph in 2010. Tanya graduated on the Dean’s Honour Roll from both Conestoga College and the University of Guelph.

Tanya’s extensive human resources experience is focuses on overall health and safety, federal and provincial legislative compliance, policy and program development, recruitment, and creating and delivering customized training programs. Her experience provides our clients with expert Human Resources and Health and Safety solutions for their needs. Tanya’s abilities to identify core issues within a multitude of industries, talent for clearly outline the problems to address, and her capacity to provide realistic, achievable solutions make an invaluable member to our team and to the clients she works with.

Tanya’s research and development skills have lent themselves extremely useful in creating several toolkits for our clients to use which outline legislative requirements, instructions for completion, policy and program templates, and training presentations. These are used by our clients in order to complete their Human Resources and Health and Safety requirements in house.

Jean ImageJean Ridout, Office Administrator/Human Resources Assistant, graduated with an Accounting Clerk Program diploma, and completed her first job placement with Beyond Rewards earlier this year. After completing her placement, she joined Beyond Rewards full time.

As the first point of contact in the office, Jean professionally deals directly with all of our clients from booking meetings to directing inquiries. Aside from her exceptional administrative skills, Jean offers significant skill and input in assisting in client projects such as policy development, training program creation, and audit recommendations. As well, her experience within the manufacturing industry provides Beyond Rewards with expert insight for our industrial clients. With all of her skills Jean has proved herself to be an essential part of the Beyond Rewards team.

Jennifer ImageJennifer Threndyle, Business Consultant, received her Master of Business Administration degree in 2008. Prior to this she completed a Bachelor of Education in Adult Education and worked as an Adult Educator and Trainer. In 2002 Jennifer graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce, Major Human Resources Management. Jennifer is currently pursuing her Certified Human Resources Professional designation.

Jennifer’s human resources experience includes recruitment and selection, training and development and performance management. In two previous positions Jennifer has managed Fee for Service programs involving the development and delivery of training programs and services for a variety of businesses and clients, across several sectors.

Over the past eight years, Jennifer has gained extensive experience working with internal and external customers for retraining and facilitation purposes on a variety of topics. The utilization of adult learning theories ensured the material and presentations were targeted to the audience. In addition, the ability to apply cognitive motivational techniques when working with clients and staff has shown to improve the outcome and application of the topic and behaviour.
